1. Are Free Anti-Virus software any good ?

You should never go without a security protection on your computer because it could really harm your PC. Free Anti-Virus has very low detection rates. 2. What if we have internal IT department already?

3. What should I do before I call for help?

If possible just write down any sort of error messages and take screen shots about it. Then try to recreate the same issue. Most of the times you just have to close the program and restart the computer and that will possibly resolve the problem..

First of all you need to install a server onsite or host one virtually on Amazon or Azure? Then we can support you. If you need transition of one eco system to another then we can help you do so.

7. What is cloud backup ?

Online backup as commonly referred as cloud backup is the process where the backups are transferred to an offsite server every night. Cloud Backup replaces the need for someone to take a backup home each night. It is more secure, reliable and easier to manage and monitor.

8. What Services do you Offer

9. I have a short term project, can you help me?

Unfortunately not on this occasion, as we build teams from scratch and with a longer-term vision in mind. We do not work on projects. However, if your development strategy is ongoing and you wish to benefit from investment in an asset — your own dedicated team — you’ve come to the right place.

10. Can I find developers with expertise in a specific technology/programming language?

Definitely! We’ve successfully built teams of offshore developers with expertise in the latest tech stacks such as PHP, C#, .NET, JavaScript, Angular, HTML/CSS, SAP, and Laravel — to name a few. 11. I’ve never been to India, how do I establish the team?

Don’t worry, we set up your extended team in India by establishing your local presence and handling legalities. Local taxes, payroll, and country-specific technicalities are taken care of on your behalf.

12. How do you make sure you find the right candidates?

We operate a stringent 7-step recruitment process. We headhunt, source, screen, test, and assess cultural fit — only then do we put the best candidate in front of you for the final interview. If there is any specific testing required, you will be able to do this.

13. What check do you carry out an engineers?

We carry out background and reference checks (other specific checks are available on request). All engineers are required to sign NDAs and data security declarations.

14. How do you manage retention?

Our attrition rate is below 15%, against a market average of 34%. It is on par with hiring in Europe. We provide engineers with an excellent working environment, European work ethics, and we place a strong emphasis on culture and engagement.

15. What if i'm not satisfied with the performance of my engineers?

Every potential candidate is meticulously screened through a series of technical and non-technical tests to ensure that your team has only the best engineers in the industry. And, all engineers also have a probation period in the first 6 months. If you’re unhappy with the performance of any developer, we will work with you to find the best outcome / solution.

16. Do you provide equipments for the engineers?

Engineers enjoy spacious workstations and ergonomic chairs. They’re also provided with a MacBook Pro or a ThinkPad with dual monitor setup, along with everyday items such as whiteboards and notebooks.

17. Is communication an issue?

Not at all. English is the language of the software development industry. All of the engineers we hire have worked with international companies and/or managers. We’ve never had any issues when it comes to communication, plus you get the final say on who joins your team!

18. Is Offshoring the same as outsourcing?

No. The offshoring model involves building dedicated teams of developers that are an integral part of your business. They are full-time employees, selected by you, to work towards the mission and goals of your company. Outsourcing is designed for projects where you can hire an external third-party, to provide part-time resources, to help you complete a project. In outsourcing, the developers switch between a multitude of different clients, whereas with our offshoring approach they’re dedicated only to your business.

19. Can I start with just one developer?

Building teams is what we do, it’s hard to build a team with 1 person, so we generally have a requirement of 5+ to help create the best environment for your new colleagues. We also provide all the resources you require to scale your team

20. How long does it take to build a fully functioning development team?

It takes anywhere between 4–8 weeks to hire your first team members. It can vary depending on the number of engineers, their expertise, tech stacks, and existing notice periods.

21. Where will my team be located? What facilities can I expect?

Your team will have a private fully equipped and branded office space in our Bangalore business centre, which comes supplied with the everyday equipment your developers need to deliver results. There are conference rooms, relaxation areas, and a rooftop cafeteria.

22. Who handles the recruitment and admin duties?

We handle the recruitment process and administer tests and assessments, but you have the final say on who gets hired. Your day-day-day admin, logistics, and operations are taken care of.

23. Can we use our own technical exercise?

Yes, of course! We have pre-built and proven technical tests, but we are happy to use yours in the process.

24. Can we hire female engineers?

Absolutely! We typically find more female developers in Bangalore, since software engineering in India is not associated with the geek/gamer persona like in Europe. Diversity is paramount at The Scalers. 70% of our upper management are women. And, our partners’ engineering teams have lots of female developmers.

25. What if an engineers leaves?

They will be required to serve the correct notice period as per their agreement and we will find a replacement.

26. How do I work with my developers?

How do you currently work with your engineers? In a nutshell, exactly how you work with your developers back home — the same tools, the same communication platforms, and the same management. It’s your team in every sense. The only difference? They’re a continent away.

27. Do you provide us with software licenses or is this extra?

Because teams are integrated into your business and each company has its own specific needs, you will provide the required software. We provide Windows 10 Pro and our in-house platform to monitor recruitment and things like engineers login/out and holidays.

28. Are you GDPR compliant?

We have an extensive and fully compliant GDPR framework in place. Most of our partners are based in Europe, falling under GDPR regulations.

29. How do you handle the time difference?

Indian time is GMT+4.5 (CET+3.5), giving you a significant daily overlap, which is actually a benefit! In Europe, by the time you start working, your team in Bangalore will have already been up and running for a few hours. And if you’re in Australia, the development continues even when the HQ has closed!
